Star Readings: Jon B.
Before
Remy Shand, Before Justin Timberlake and yes, even before Robin
Thicke. There was Jonathan David Buck. Better known as Jon B. I have
to admit when Jon B first came onto the music scene in '95. I
thought, “He hasn't found his voice yet”. However, by the time
97' came along. My opinion about him changed. I saw a man who clearly
matured and found his voice along with his own personal style.
Today
though, we're not going to talk about just his music. Today, I want
you to get to know the man as well as the performer. Are you ready? I
am. Let's Go!
Jon's
Marriage
When
I pick up on Jon's marriage. The first thing that comes to mind is.
“Good times and bad/we've got each other.” It may seem like to
others that their dynamic is a bit wired at times. Trust me, it's
not. Contrary to what we may think. Jon is a very tender, shy and at
times emotional guy. (He over thinks and worries about damn near
everything. ) That's where his lovely wife comes in. Wear he
protects and provides, she uplifts and when she has to takes charge.
Even though I do pick up that she can be a bit unsure of herself.
Don't worry girl, even though he's a perfectionist and can be distant
at times. He loves you more than you think.
Jon's
Music
Jon
is on a evolutionary journey when it comes to his music. He wants to
stick to his true sound while at the same time expanding and growing
both vocally and musically. I pick up two more albums coming very
soon. I feel that one is going to be even more frisky than his
previous works. As well we're going to hear him experiment with
different rhythms and sounds. Think Bruno Mars meets cuban jazz. He
really wants to challenge himself. While keeping his true blue fans
happy. Trust me Jon, you will. There's also going to be more touring
and I pick up his concerts becoming more like an intimate gathering.
Almost like a one man show. He'll talk a little, sing a lot, and
laugh a whole lot. As he has a great sense of humor. He's a big
goofball off stage. There's also a lot of contacts and deals
regarding distribution coming your way along with some possible radio
work as well. In the next three to five months.
Jon's
Health
Worry,
worry, worry. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I think
of Jon's physical health. Man, you work enough and worry too damn
much! Jon is a thinker. He's always thinking, not just about music
but about the world as a whole. I see him wanting to give back. He's
going to work with children (If he isn't already) and I see him
giving time to rehabilitation centers as well. As he knows suffering
and wants to help those that need it. I also get the sense that he
sees his music as tool of healing as well. I also see him teaching
what he knows about the music business to kids. He wants the next
generation to avoid the pitfalls of the industry.
Jon
and Spirituality
Though
he's not one to talk about his faith. I pick up that's been a big and
very important part of his life. He's been grounded in his faith for
at least the last five years and he knows that without it. He
wouldn't be lost per se' he just wouldn't be Jon. Prayer and moments
where he can just be alone are what keep him grounded. Although, I
would caution you Jon, to not isolate yourself. It's okay to not be
so private all the time.
Jon,
you're doing just fine and as long as you keep singing. You will
always be wanted, needed and desired. Keep doing your thing and
remaining humble while doing it.
Love,
Leo Brown :)
